Aion 2 PvP Gear Progression Guide
This guide covers PvP gear progression in three parts: obtaining Abyss Points and medals, purchase strategy and upgrades, and soul bind stat selection. For players who find the grind for materials or upgrade costs overwhelming, the option to buy Aion 2 Kinah can help accelerate your progression, allowing you to focus more on PvP combat and less on farming.
Part 1: Currencies
Abyss Points (AP)
AP is your primary PvP currency. It comes in two types.
Seasonal capped AP comes from killing players in open world PvP and farming monsters in Abyss open areas. You can check your current cap using the button on the top left of the interface.
Out-of-season AP does not count toward the seasonal cap. It comes from Abyss corridor dungeons, Sugar Games and invasions, battlegrounds and arenas, and supply requests.
AP is limited. Spend it carefully. Consumables and devotion chests should be avoided on anything other than alts.
Abyss equipment can be dissolved to recoup 80% of the AP cost, but this is not recommended due to the permanent 20% loss and the inheritance system described later.
Medals
Medals are used alongside AP to purchase gear from Centurion tier upward.
Silver Medals – Centurion gear
Gold Medals – Tribunas gear
Platinum Medals – High Commander gear
Artifact sieges happen every 48 hours. Contributing to the boss defeat awards medals if your faction wins.
Abyss bosses Harra and Argos spawn every 12 hours. Contributing gives marks exchanged for medal boxes.
Nama spawns Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 PM server time. Killing Nama once a week awards silver medals through season quests.
Season quests under the Abyss category reward medals for artifact participation. Weekly quests reward medals for killing Nama and farming Abyss monsters.
Challenge quests reward medals for killing officers, generals, marshals, commanders, and supreme commanders of the opposite faction.
Rifting quests require killing enemy faction players in your map and their map. These reward silver medal fragments and gold medals over ten steps.
Ranking quests require killing players of specific ranks. These reward fragments.
Twenty fragments and 100,000 Kinah can be transmuted into one silver medal at a 10% success rate, up to ten medals per week. The weekly maximum of 1,600 fragments costs about 8 million Kinah and yields eight medals on average.
Part 2: Gear Progression
Starting Out
Farm about 715,000 AP for a full Centurion set excluding the weapon. Focus on out-of-season AP first, as PvP is difficult without PvP gear. You can catch up on seasonal AP later.
For PvP quests, assists count. Hitting a target or being in a group with others fighting gives credit.
Upgrade Priority
Enchant weapon first, then guard and accessories. Get all gear to +11, then work toward +17. Going from scratch to +17 costs about 15 million Kinah per piece.
Inheritance System
The inheritance system carries enchantments and soul binds to gear of the same grade. Progress on Centurion gear carries through to Tribunas and beyond.
Set Effects
All PvP gear gives +40% damage to Abyss monsters and -20% damage elsewhere. This only activates when wearing the same set.
Centurion: 5% PvP damage at 2 pieces, 5% PvP tolerance at 5 pieces.
Tribunas: 5% PvP damage at 2 pieces, another 5% at 8 pieces (10% total). 5% tolerance at 5 pieces, another 5% at 12 pieces (10% total).
High Commander: 5% PvP damage at 2 pieces, another 10% at 8 pieces. 5% tolerance at 5 pieces, another 10% at 12 pieces.
Mixing Sets
Since each set counts separately, you can mix them for better bonuses. For example, five Centurion pieces plus eight Tribunas pieces gives 15% damage boost and 10% tolerance, which beats a full Tribunas set.
Purchase Strategies
Buy the most expensive Centurion pieces first. This lets you grab cheap Tribunas pieces later for faster set effects, since gold medals are scarce.
Alternatively, buy Centurion accessories and rings first, as their stats scale less with item level.
The Weapon
The weapon is the most expensive piece and does not count toward set effects. Weapons scale dramatically with item level on both base stats and soul binds.
Most players choose a crafted weapon over a PvP weapon. Crafted weapons have higher damage range and an extra soul bind line.
Extendable weapons are only good for melee classes. Ranged classes rarely benefit from the extra range. Extendable weapons also have one fewer soul bind line.
Part 3: Soul Binds and Stats
Weapon and Guard
Never roll skills on these. Target combat speed, weapon damage boost, might, and precision. Damage boost, status effect chance, and impact type chance compete for remaining slots.
Accessories
Rings work with arcana cards to reach skill level thresholds. Roll for skills to hit level 16 and 20, then fill with intelligence, accuracy, or evasion.
Earrings and necklaces share the same stat pool. Roll important class passives, intelligence, accuracy, or evasion.
Armor
With the exception of headpieces, roll piece-specific stats like combat speed on gloves or damage boost on chest. Remaining slots vary by class and build.
Defensive Stat Overview
Evasion works from all directions and avoids crowd control. It requires heavy investment in dexterity and evasion. It filters out lower-geared players who lack accuracy. However, accuracy builds counter it completely, and many skills bypass evasion entirely. Rangers and assassins build evasion best due to their passives.
Endurance reduces damage by half when it procs. But endurance penetration is tied to illusion, a stat most players have for cooldown reduction. Building endurance is difficult without top-tier gear.
Regeneration returns 50% of damage taken as health when it procs. Regeneration penetration is tied to death, a stat almost no one pursues. Life, tied to regeneration, is easier to find and gives HP increase. Regeneration procs more often than endurance and leans better into meat shield builds.
Status effect resist and willpower mitigate crowd control. Passives like Survival Willpower reduce damage on engages against CC-reliant classes.
Constitution raises maximum HP by a percentage and has grown in popularity.
Accuracy requires heavy investment but counters evasion users. The target threshold is about 2,500 accuracy including PvP stats, with 3,000 for assassins and rangers. If you need to acquire the necessary gear to reach these thresholds without endless grinding, consider sourcing cheap Aion 2 items from MMOEXP, a trusted marketplace that offers reliable service and competitive pricing.
